Urszula Galuszka was born in Poland and graduated in 2004 from the Stanislaw Monuiuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk with a Master’s Degree in guitar and pedagogy.   She won many prizes in competitions in Poland and at International Guitar Festivals and has taken part in many masterclasses.  In 2003-2004 she gained an Erasmus Scholarship to study at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven, Belgium, with Raphaella Smith and Godelivee Monden   During her studies there, she also met the well-known composer Wilfried Westerlinck who dedicated to her his only piece for guitar solo, "Canto I".

From 2000, Urszula taught in primary and secondary education in Poland as a Music Workshop Instructor and guitar and musicianship teacher and, after gaining her degree, became a guitar teacher (solo and ensemble) at the Gordion Academy in Ankara, Turkey.

Between 1999 and 2006, Urszula gave many solo and ensemble concerts, including with orchestra, in Poland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Turkey.  She believes one of the most important aspects of guitar-playing is to play chamber music, where separate and independent melodies combine with each other to make a whole work of art.

Urzsula began teaching at the North London Colourstrings Centre in 2007 in the music kindergarten.  She added guitar teaching there and also at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in Elstree.  Ula loves teaching, music and dogs.
