Marta Gonzalez Bordonaba

Marta graduated from Pamplona and Vitoria Conservatoires (Spain) with a BMus in Violin Performance and Chamber Music, studying with Victor Parra and Ricardo Schiamarella.  During that time she was awarded 1st prize in the Pamplona Conservatoire Chamber Music Competition.

Marta has been a member of the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE) and the Navarra Symphony Orchestra (1999-2003). She has worked with the Spanish National Orchestra, Philarmonia Bilbao Orchestra, Orquesta Académica de Madrid, Spanish National Classical Theatre Company, Orquesta Santa Cecilia de Madrid, Orpheus Sinfonia (London) and Capilla de Música Jerónimo Carrión (Early Music group), while recording a number of CD's and doing session work for TV and cinema.

Marta has always loved teaching and working with children and has more than 15 years’ teaching experience in music academies and schools in the Madrid and Navarra areas. She also loves playing with modern bands and bringing her experience of playing other genres like jazz, tango, pop-rock and flamenco to her teaching.

Marta relocated to the UK in 2013, and is active as a freelance musician and teacher. She is finishing a Musicology Degree at La Rioja University (Spain) and enjoys art, cinema and going for long walks in the country. There is always something out there to make your day!
