North London Colourstrings - helping children successfully learn music since 1995

Laura studied the cello at Trinity College of Music, London, and has performed widely in several orchestras and chamber ensembles, with which she has toured the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Spain.  She gives regular recitals with duo partner, Timothy Murray, featuring a wide repertoire, although she readily confesses to having most enthusiasm for Romantic and 20th Century works!

 

She is an experienced teacher of all age groups, both individually and in groups, with candidates achieving consistently high results in examinations.  She particularly enjoys ensemble coaching and taking orchestral sectional rehearsals.  In recent years she has developed a special interest in teaching young children cello and musicianship, using the “Colourstrings Approach”.   This has been a challenging but rewarding time, and she is now “Head of Cello” at North London Colourstrings.

 

Laura lives with her husband and Minou and Maxou, their two crazy cats.
