Emma had a very rich musical upbringing, being the youngest of four children all
of whom played at least two instruments -
After completing her Performing Arts (Music) degree in 2000, Emma wondered whether music was something she did because she loved it or did because it was all she could do. This led to her working in Charity Fundraising for three years before she realised she still longed to be immersed in music. After a year of music teaching, Emma discovered Colourstrings and promptly went on a training course. Although she had thoroughly enjoyed her own music education she was extremely inspired and wishes she had learnt through the Colourstrings approach.
Emma teaches Cello and Musicianship at the North London Colourstrings Centre and also takes the Children’s Saturday Choir. She has also taught Kodaly Musicianship in the Junior Department of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has two children and enjoys walking, dancing, eating out, and playing Yahtzee.
